After all their years of campaigning for justice, Britain’s nuclear test veterans had just been handed their first breakthrough victory.
Mr Justice Foskett decided in favour of the veterans on all counts. In a 217-page ruling he threw out the MoD’s argument that the claim was lodged too late.
He said: “A veteran who believes that he has an illness, injury or disability attributable to his presence at the tests… should be entitled to his day in court.”
