Two US Navy vessels collided today off the coast of Iran.

It happened as the nuclear-powered USS Hartford submarine and the USS New Orleans warship made their way through the Strait of Hormuz near the Persian Gulf.

Fifteen sailors aboard the Hartford were slightly injured.

The submarine’s nuclear-propulsion plant was not damaged, but the New Orleans warship spilled 25-thousand gallons of diesel fuel into the Persian Gulf.
