Bolivian gov’t gives landholders’ lands to indigenous people

LA PAZ, March 15 (Xinhua) — Bolivian President Evo Morales on Sunday gave indigenous Guarani people title deeds of 38,000 hectares of land that were property of landholders from Alto Parapeti, Santa Cruz department.

Morales said it was the beginning of the end of the landholding in his country. Morales also gave title deeds of 17,000 hectares of land to the so-called Communal Lands of Origin.

“We are beginning to apply the new Political Constitution of the State, to finish with the landholding, we will continue working for you till finishing the landholding,” Morales said.
