Federal officials have again found spots of Staten Island’s Great Kills Park ( for once truth in a name blog editor note)that are contaminated with radium.
The discovery led the National Park Service to close five ball fields — located between Bay Terrace and Fieldway Avenue — until a second round of tests can be conducted.
The federal Department of Health and Human Services believes the risk of exposure is minimal and poses little risk to users of the park.
