MADRID, March 1 (Reuters) – Spain’s 500 megawatt Garona nuclear power station was disconnected from the grid on Sunday for scheduled refuelling, a spokesman said.

Just six of Spain’s eight nuclear plants are now working normally, as the 1,000 Trillo reactor began refuelling on Feb. 11.

Between them, nuclear plants were generating 5,875 MW on Sunday morning, data from national grid operator REE (REE.MC) showed, compared with about 7,300 when all are up and running.
