WE CAN STOP THE DESERT ROCK POWER PLANT!

The Navajo Nation Council will go into session the week of January 26th and one of the items on the agenda is a resolution that approves rights-of-way for power lines, water lines, water wells and roads. They will run north of the proposed power plant to a spot northeast of Shiprock, and then on to the Arizona State line. The Navajo Nation is giving up a strip of land 250 feet wide for the power lines.

We can stop the proposed power plant. It cannot operate without rights-of-way. Come join us!

There will be a massive but peaceful demonstration against the rights-of-way resolution in Window Rock on Monday, January 26, 2008. It will be held at the Council Chambers. The gathering will begin at 7:00 a.m.

Those who want to come in from out of town can join us at the Dooda Desert Rock camp in Chaco Rio, NM on Sunday, January 25th.
