A burn ban begins today for four reservations in eastern Washington and continues through Monday. Another ban involving 21 reservations in western Washington starts Wednesday and ends Monday.

The EPA says a high pressure system moving into the region is increasing stagnant air conditions.

The ban applies to outdoor and agricultural burning. Residents are urged to reduce air pollution by avoiding excess driving, idling and woodstove burning.
