Strange bedfellows: Iran and the UK

While that love affair was developing, it seems that Iran found a way to channel funds through Lloyd’s Bank to purchase American products incognito. Sure we had sanctions. But, if the money was wired to an American bank from Lloyds where stripping was done with the utmost care, no one would be the wiser.

What is stripping? Removing all traces of the origins of funds so that no one knows the source. And what did they want to purchase? Materials for their nuclear program.

Lloyds has admitted its role on behalf on Iran for the years 2001-2004. It took U.S. authorities 3 years to become aware of the strategy. What Lloyds really needs to do right now is cough up a list of every single transaction they executed on behalf of Iran so that the CIA and the FBI can follow the money trail. This is tantamount to some sort of treason, isn’t it? When you consider that the UK and the US are working in tandem to wipe out terrorism. Is it the money stupid?
