BRATTLEBORO — Last week’s ice storm knocked out more than just power to thousands of homes in southern Vermont — it knocked out the emergency telephone lines at Vermont Yankee nuclear plant’s headquarters.
Entergy Nuclear said Wednesday the emergency lines were out of service for two hours Friday morning, but backup lines were available.
Entergy Nuclear spokesman Larry Smith said the lines connected two buildings at the company’s corporate headquarters in Brattleboro. He said the company was investigating how to prevent such problems in the future.
